hey guys i have a couple of questions for you and instead to making a few different threads ill save net space and make it just one
A) How the hell do you remove the glovebox lid on a VP? its got me farked!!!
B) i took my centre console out the other night to spray a few lil bits on it and managed to get back in with everything working etc BUT there is a few mm gap between the top of the console and the bottom of the radio facia.....did anyone else have this problem and is it a biatch to get back in 100%?
C) i plan on putting a custom cold air induction system in my car using PVC plumbing pipe and drilling a hole under where the original airbox sits as there is nothing underneath that behind the vacuum canister just empty wheel arch and i am going to run the piping down to the hole in the front of my senator front bar.....and also making a box to go around the pod filter to sheild the filter from engine heat......has anyone else done this and if so how well did it work?
thanks guys![]()
A) there's a small black plastic cylinder (about as thick as a small texta, and an inch long) that has a triangular face on it. You have to wedge this out from INSIDE the glovebox, using a flathead screwdriver. It's down the back RIGHT of the glovebox. Where it pivots. You'll find it. It's usually a pain to get out.
Then the left hand side should just slide out with a bit of squeezing
B) My radio facia never went back in 100% the same... It should be possible with some buggering around though. Just keep fiddling and shoving things
C) That would work REALLY well if it wasn't a major defect... I don't think you can drill a hole in your chasis at that point without raising major issues. Someone correct me on this?

thanks mate!!
nah you cant if cops see it then there will be a big yellow sticker across the windscreen..........i know you guys dont condone this either!!! it is quite illegal..........and yes i do know that little cylinder you mean ill go pop the little bastard out now..............yeah i tried kicking my centre console but that didnt work so i had no ideas left hahahaha
yeah but VP's dont so i would assume that if the hole aint there dont cut one (in law).....if they came out with one its fine but if it aint there u cant put one there legally.........thats what i thought
oh and i didnt mean through the airbox........there is no airbox there atm.......
i meant cut a hole with a holesaw through the actual body under where the airbox would normally sit
Thats what I meant too. But leave the airbox there and just run the pipe through it. Want people can't see won't hurt you.
but then the air wont hit the pod properley.........besides im making a box from cardboard and fibreglass that will cover that section where the airbox would be to sheild the pod from engine heat so it can suck in that sweeet sweeet cold air..........
I thought you were going to put the pod under the guard so it suck cool air from the front of the car. Then you could run all the plumbing through the air box and it would look like it was still there.
nope.........run piping to the hole in the guard so the air goes into that section ill have closed off from the engine bay............but now u mention it your way is a good idea too!! i like i like
It's legal to modify the inner gaurds, both front and rear without a engineers certificate
Sweet ^^ Thanks for that foamy. I stand corrected \o/

and we sat down next to my car last night and checked out exactly what gaps we have and the diameter between all the radiator brackets behind the front bar.........we decided to..........put the airbox back in and connect it to the air pipe to the throttle body (standard procedure) THEN, we are going to cut through the bottom panel of the air box and straight through the guard so there is a hole you can lokk through straight to the ground through the guard.........THEN we are taking some steel piping and bolting it to the radiator brackets with an elbow fitted to get it to the front bar where it will meet a scoop in the front right hole on my senator front bar........where the steel piping meets the bottom of the air box there will be a round piece of mesh so stones etc cannot get into the air box and the air box will be fitted with a K&N high flow flat panel filter..............WISH ME LUCK! (my mate who is doing it with me works for jaguar racing and they do this stuff ALL the time for the jag race cars so i doubt a holden will be a problem)
thanks 2greedy but yeah as VN2NV just said they keep slipping out it almost makes me wanna kick it real hard but thats not gonna help lol as i was told ages ago they never go back in 100% as from factory
hahahaha nah i was tempted to kick it but didnt.........yeah i was told ages ago: "man they never go back in 100% thats the way holden make em hahaha"
