    Default Compressing springs

I've heard (not sure how true) that there's a place in Adelaide that will compress a pair of springs for around $80... Does anybody know of a garage in Melbourne that will do this, or how much they charge?

I'm looking to get my fronts compressed to around superlow height, and my rears taken down a little too. I've asked around a little, but nobody seems to know

$80 to have a hard as ride....compared to $110-$120 to get progressive rate springs which get harder the closer the coils get.... i know what id choose.
industrial springs on port road do it tho

also when they compress springs they heats them yes?? then if they do the will be more brittle than before and could crack or have weakness...

From what I've heard, they heat them, reset them- which loses the 'spring' in the steel, then re-spring them again.

But yeah, I'd just buy the proper springs in the first place.

Or always have three super-sized mates in the car with you...

yeah they put it in a big vice thingy i think and heat it and just let it cool down... its sure as hell better than cutting the springs

bottom line, if u can get lower spring, get them, compressing is for whenits just not low enough you can replace your top spring bump stops with like smaller ones (noltek make them) u know?? thats gotta drop it a bit ask hakhawk he knows

That's an interesting idea, changing the bump stops. I'm just trying to stinge and save as much money as possible, really. If I saw a cheap set of second-hand superlows come up for sale I'd grab them. What do supers retail for brand new, $120 a pair or something?

Browns springworks in thomastown might compress springs for you. Not sure about the price. A few of my friends have there springs compressed using ultra low's but I haven't done it personally. With compressed springs the springs would have no major effect if done properly return back to its normal height overtime.
It's upto you buying new springs might be the quicker option.
