Hi all....i have a vp commodore 3.8 v6 series 2... it has transmission fluid in the radiator and water in the tranny ...as evident on tranny dipstick....right i will need a new radiator ...no worries can do.....but wot about the tranny...it will need a good flush out....can do????? or should i leave it to the experts??? i do have a little mechanical ability but was mainly with earlier holdens... any advice appreciated...jack
Take it to the tranny specialist and tell him to fully flush the system.
thanx oo7...i just rang our local tranny specialist and he reckons $200 should pul it up plus new rad.... but said to get as much of contaminated fluid out asap as it will shag the clutch packs... they are booked solid so it looks like i will have to drain it b4 they look at it
You probably have to flush the coolant system fully aswell, because you have tranny fuild in there.
yep will be done when the suspect radiator gets hurled to the ****house and new one goes in... ta mate
yeah it does kill them the water screw the frictions up
