    love my ex police commy wagon but she has cost me a lot at mechanic shop of late.....now this !!!!!!!!!! pictures attached.....tranny leaking into radiator and radiator leaking into tranny.......should i flush the tranny myself or do i need flushing????????/ jack

    where are you located, my old mans a mechanic by trade who be able to beat the pants of your locals prices and garentees all his work

    haha dont know if you really want to ...in exeter the only bp in the town my uncles owns and cousin runs the mechanics shop there head down tell em brad from melbourne sent you...world gets smaller every day

    Radiator is most possibly leaking into it

    Passenger side you will see the 2 transmission lines..

    hey commomate just spoke to your cuz...chris and he shed a bit of light on the subject.... sounds like it could be expensive......cause hey says and is quite right...that u can drain the fluid out by taking off the tranny pan...but it will only drain sum of the fluid as most will be trapped in the torque converter...he also says that after a partial drain and a top up...sometimes the water may burn out thru heat but he says not always...only other way is to remove box from car...thanks for your help

    yeah dodgy it is but how do i clean the gearbox of water... and yep i will need a new rad

    haha glad to help, dont know if he quoted you but should be able to sort you out and do it right instead of going to another mechanic...he's had a lot of expreicnce with commodores and racing em so he should no what he's talking about...

    You can get if fully flushed out. That means the old oil is flushed out completely.

    Personally, I would drop the box, put a service kit through it, flush the converter and all lines with clean oil, and put it back in.

    OR/

    Drop box, go to wreckers, get a s/h box and converter and use that.

    gonna be talking to the specialist at 1.45pm dst so i will be asking him to what extent they will flush out...new rad and cooling system flushout will need to be done at same time

    hey guys this commie is ex police car do they run a beefed up version of gearbox or just the standard box?
