Hey, on my v6 ive got all the usual mods, extractors, exhaust, CIA and K&N.
Just recently i bolted on a v8 throttle body and removed the bell mouth
restrictor, which made a huge difference... ive now sourced some v8
injectors and im curious as to whether they are a straight fit? do i need to
modify anything? and also the injectors are from a VN group A motor... so are
they different to normal 5l injectors and if so will they still be a straight fit?...
any help is much appreciated! cheerz guyz!
i dont think youre car needs bigger injectors. will just make it run rich and blow black smoke
1995 Manual HSV Clubsport
Wade Cam :: 9.2:1 CR :: Pacemaker headers :: Twin 2.5" Exhaust :: VT Brakes
1991 Supercharged VN Berlina
9 PSI SC14 Intercooled :: Genie headers :: Twin cats :: HM Twin 2.25 exhaust :: 3.45:1 LSD
They are a straight fit but the will give you too much fuel, you can fix it in the tune but your car is a long way short of needing bigger injectors just yet
Thats okay then, cheers guys!
what injectors did group a's run..
what is the numbers on the injectors
775's? 36psi I think, weren't they?
24 lb, same injector as the 4 cyl magna
706's they were, aka Magna cream tops
I think I'm getting them mixed up...I was thinking 706's after I posted- DOH!
What are V6 SC injectors. Same?
Nope the super 6's are a totally different thing and much betterm I've got some rebuilt 775's for my car that I might test out later this week with my new soft rev limiterbOOOOOOOOORTbrdbrbbdbrbdrbrdb...BoOOOOOOOOORT
Ah OK, so the V6 super injectors wouldn't fit a 5 litre then?
They will fit, but you would want a good motor to need them
Hope you werent sucked into the ones on Ebay...Because you could have gotten the dirt cheap out a magna at the wreckers.
The ones on Ebay are all just taken out of Magna's at the wreckers I bet you.
It seems every second lot available there are mysteriously only '4 available'... perhaps because they came from a 4 cylinder magna!!!
i just found this site. and it says that blue tops and cream tops are the same. which is 248 cc's. http://www.injectorcleaning.co.uk/flow.htm.
i am not sure if it is right. as it is the first site i have found to say that blue tops have that much flow. i will keep looking though
http://www.fpvtickfordclubwa.com.au/...hp?showtopic=9 another saying they are over 24 pound. maybe i have been wrong all this time. i should have bought heaps when i use to see them cheap
EDIT:
http://www.opel6070club.com/suutin.pdf here is one that is against that.
http://www.kalmaker.com.au/page57.html
Kalmakers injector table says the cream tops flow a little more than blue tops, I'm sure they have swaped them over a million times on the same car with a air fuel gauge hooked up so they should know, most places believe blue tops are the injectors to have so you can get cream tops for cheap
