Default How to blow 5k on a VN S1?

Ok, I have budgeted 5000 to do a little bit of work on my VN S1 Berlina. Its mechanically sound (just replaced/fixed everything that needed work on the suspension and the engine)

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do?

Btw I live the FNQ around Cairns so prices are prolly a bit more expensive around here

Oh and I wanna paint it as it looks kinda lame with a slightly faded white :S (Only have to pay for paint as my old man is a car painter/panel beater , I was thinking black only, any ideas?)

Any help/ideas would be much appreciated, I really don't have much of a clue as to where to start on it.

5 grand will go pretty quick once ya get started.

Are you looking for aesthetics? Performance? Mixture?

yeah, i would love to go all out for motor work but thing is i cant up fuel consumption too much cos im going to uni next year

i'd prefer a mixture between engine work and aesthetics. although i guess improving reliability is probably gonna be the major point on the whole thing.

in that case, rebuild, port n polish heads only. extractors, exhaust, mags, lowered.

    Heres 5 grand:
    Extractors - $600
Stage 3 cam and chip package - $1200
Lowered Suspension, Shocks, new bushes etc. ($800)
    18" Wheels - $1500
    Exhaust - $300
    Window Tint - $300

That about covers 5 grand. But if you want to go all out it goes much faster... my pacemaker comp extractors were $994 with ceramic coating, wheels were close to 3 grand once I covered wheel alignment, lock nuts etc. so it depends how far you wanna go.

Yeah, was the equal cheapest quote I could get, but the other equal quote was for skinnier tyres and they didnt sell the lock nuts I wanted. Wheels, tyres, lock nuts, wheel alignment, wheel balancing and whitewalls.

I paid $3K for VY Sigs, Falken tyres, wheel balancing, wheel alignment, lock nuts, chrome valves. Keeping in mind HSV wheels are rediculusly over priced.

I got chrome valves too, your lock nuts are probably just basic ones though? I got the gorilla guard ones which rrp at around $100. They have the ones with the outer cover that just spins so sockets etc. can't get them off.

Whether they are HSV rims or not you still paid more than me yet you're saying I paid too much for rims?
