Default High-flow Cat or rear muffler

Ok, so iv just spent the last...dunno how long, looking on the net for ways to figure out if my (if it is the problem) slightly blocked exhaust is thanx to either my high flowcat, or my rear muffler. i think its the rear muffler as before the problem escilated to being a slightly blocked exhaust, more at idle than driving that real irritating rattle came from under the car. the rattling started not all that long ago. what kick started it was i think, a night i gave the white ghost a bit of a 'floggin', as u do.

so i was driving home the other day and saw a mate, pulled over for a chat and a ciggie, left the car runnin... and asked him about the rattling, he thought it was the muffler, and explained it was caused by baffles inside the muffler being dammaged, and also eplained the effects if i kept on driving it. funily enought after we finnished up and i tried to drive off something was different serously!seriously lacked power, and sounded different. which i think is caused by a blockage.

wen i tapped the cat and muffler with a mallet, only the muffler rattled.

i would rather not drive the car with that problem to the mechanics and dont want to pay for a tow truck.

if possible any suggestions on how i could figure out how to definatley figure out which of the two options (cat or muf) is the culprit.i was thinking of detaching the exhaust at the cat to drive to a muffler shop, will be interesting to hear what the manual 6 with extractors will sound like without a exhaust , apparently its deafening.

    any help will be appriciated

does sound like a dodgy muffler baffles. i've got that rattle in my VN, sometimes it does seem like it's lacking a little power and sucking more gass then usual but it's been likethat for a long time so it shouldn't really hurt it unless it's almost completly blocked

I would say your cat has broken up and bits of it have blocked your muffler. The 100% way of stopping this in the future is to fit a metal cat. More expensive but they will not do any damage.
