gday i was wondering whats better 2.5 inch or 3 inch, the pros and cons of each, i currently have a 2.5 system. i got pacemaker extractors from ebay arriving next week. the car is a v6. will 3 inch improve performance and make a nice note or is it the refersal?
and i guess the local oinkers woont approve
2.5 inch is all you need, 3 inch donesn't really make a difference unless your v6 is nutter but it may make a slight difference in sound but i dont think its really worth it.

r k, im in the process of building a motor up to s/c and im hoping to set the car up ready for it ,so i dont bugger around having to replace parts o suit the rebuilt motor
if your going to do that then 3inch may be the way to go!
We got rep back, yaaay!
with a 3" your going to loose some bottom end power. with a kick *ss blower on it it will definitly improve the top end power though

If you are building it for a SC then go 3". Twin 2 1/4" off the extractors, into twin metal hi flow cats then into a straight through 3". Will not pull a turd out of a puddle before you fit the SC but it will be perfect for it afterwards. You will have to cut the extractors off at the collectors to open them up to 2 1/4" though because the outlets are only 2".
