    Default vp 5 litre wont start

    well jumped in me car this morning drove up the street and it died,so i pulled over to start it but wont start it will wine over but wont kick over its got fuel and stuff but just wont start so i dont know what it could be.could it be my ignition coil.if anyone would have any ideas of what it could be that would be great.

    Did it die as u were drivin, like splutter to a stop, or just not start after a drive.

    Can u hear ur fuel pump?

    Maybe throw sum water on ur crank angle sensor, could be hot n not reading.

    A lil bit more info on wat happend n sumone should be able to help.

    yeh it died when i was drivin i checked me fuel pump its workin cause i undone the line at the fuel rail and turned the ignition and fuel came out so its getting fuel it just not firing over now

    My guess would be the CAS, its in the dizzy. Either that or the ignition module. Do a code check and see what it tells you.

    Ummmm what crank angle sensor?? The 5lt doesn't use one
    It will be either the coil or ignition module are dead, or as in my case the ECU itself. Try a fault code test first. If thats no good find somone with a 5lt and swap the coil and ICM and test it out.

    yeah cheers guys i got a mate whos gonna lend me his ignition module to see if its that if its not that then im gonna get a coil.

    HAHAH yeah wasnt sure if i did or not.

    Wasnt goin to post as i dont no much on 5L but fort i would to try get sum more info about what happened when it died.

    As most ppl dont give enough info in first post to give a clean explaination on wat happened uno.

    yeah cheers fellas i got it goin it was the ignition module (silver box on the left gaurd)im borrowing my mates one cause hes car isnt on the road.went and got some quotes for one,autobarn want $400 for one and the wreckers want $220 for one so i think im gonna buy a new one.if anyone knows where to get them cheaper let me know.cheers

    From memory repco sell a reco unit for around $150-180.

    Oh well, I thought they had a CAS in the dizzy. Never had much to do with the 5 ltrs. My money was on the ignition module anyway.

    yeah i just wasnt sure what it was i thought i might of had a stuffed rotor button or ignition coil was stuff but yeh its all fixed now cheers fellas,been real helpful

    VT's have something kinda like that, not a CAS in the literal sense, but they use a signal from the dizzy to figure out which cylinder is coming onto the intake stroke for the sequential injection.
