hi all how would i go putting a vs gearbox to a vp or vr engine how do i make it work electrically if i keep the vp engine for now and when it goes then put a vr or vs engine which evers cheaper i dont know the costs.

can i or do i have to change to a vr or vs bcm in my vp to make the electronic gearbox work with the vp or vr engine work.

what do i need to add to make the electronic gearbox work in a vp without ripping all the wiring out i know you got to change the ecu and i think theres a seperate transmisson computer can i just add the gearbox wiring harness to the vp loom.

can i have electric boot release without a bcm

hi 12000 the vp and vr engine are about the same thing and change over allright but not sure the the ecotec vs bolt patern is the same for the auto from vp/vr eng but vr on has different ecu, as for the bcm there is three levels that i know of:hi, med and low. some have controle for power windows,c'locking,boot release and so on. low for eg is basic poverty pack, the key head corrisponds to the correct bcm. is that clear as mud?

as long as you have a vns2 motor (ev6) the vr auto will bolt strait up, however, you will need the vr computer, as for the vs forget about it as it is not entirely the same engine

as for electronic boot relaese, these things are just a little acctuator in the boot, when giving as bit of power the pull a wire and unlatch the boot, nothing to do with computer, just one wire to a switch, other side of switch to power source
