im after a pair of kings ultra lows for tha rear of my IRS V6 VP, but do places stock them or only go to super lows?
bcause ive gone around 2 alot of places asking for prices, and they've all said super low is tha lowest made, n when i went the suspension center, the guy pretty much cracked tha sh*ts at me when i asked for ultra lows, sayin they dont exsit n so on.................when they do,
so wat shops sell em??
(when i was askin i was askin for a vr irs, but all tha same)
lol, they do make em, just gotta order them in, theyre prolly not wanting to sell them as theyre illegal to use on the roads due to how much they lower the car, really, supers are illegal too, because they make it less than 2/3 original suspension travel.
anyway, what places have you tried? i work at autobarn and if someone wants ultras, theyll get em. i tell them theyre illegal, then its their choice.
Ok you want the following part numbers:
Front:
KHFL-22SSL which is Ultralow front springs for VB-VP.
Rear (Two Choices):
KHRL-46SSL which is Extra Super Low rear for IRS Commodores.
But there is also KHRL-46SSSL which is Ultra Low for the rear.
I got mine at repco. They had to order them in but they were fine about it.
Australia. Love it or leave it
well i tried supercheap auto, repco image auto (small auto shop) and suspension center, also auto-pro, but i dont think i asked about hieghts there just general price
i thought that mayb they jus didnt say em bcause there illegal, but tha bloke at suspension center seriously craked tha ****s when i asked him, his like every1 askes for them but they dont make em, when i no they do
cheers for tha info, ill most likely buy ultras, n leave tha fronts at lows, wats tha $$ on em bout 98buks or sumthing?
I've got Kings KHRL-46SSSL (Ultralow) on the rear of my VP Calais and the diff still has about 130mm clearance, and roughly 25mm between the bumpstops, it's a nice height but not extremely low.

cause id like 2 see sum pics b4 i go buyin tha lowest spring they make, cause im still riding on tha 15"s so itll sit abit lower
Sure thing, here's a photo.
You could always get BMW springs (so I've heard) or get proper ones compressed to lower it even more.

linchpin datz phatttt
what have you got for the fronts?
so in other words those are super-super-lows in the fronts aye
any pix with the front wheels straight?
can anyone advise me how to check the numbers?
i have a set of superlows ( with number KHPR-20) but on the king springs site, superlows for non IRS VN isn't that nuymber
can anyone help?
well, the numbers stamped on the coil, so just find tht number in the kingsprings list and thats what youve got
hi thanks for that
well, i looked again, and wouldn't u know it
this is what i found (no wonder i didn't find it first time)
75-85 GEMINI TX - TG WAGON & P/VAN A KHRS-07 KHPR-20
are these correct?
are these and VN interchangeable?
then i went and found these
78-93 COMMODORE SEDAN VB-VP ULTRA LOW A KHFL-22SSL A KHPR-20SL *
78-86 COMMODORE SEDAN VB-VK 6CYL S/LOW A KHPR-22SL A KHRL-20HD *
78-86 COMMODORE SEDAN VB-VK V8 S/LOW A KHPR-22 A KHRL-20HD *
86-93 COMMODORE SEDAN VL-VP 6CYL S/LOW A KHPR-22SL A KHPR-20HD *
86-93 COMMODORE SEDAN VL-VP V8 S/LOW A KHPR-22 A KHPR-20HD *
93-95 COMMODORE SEDAN VR V6 S/LOW A KHFL-47SL # A KHPR-20HD *
what does the HD mean, and it's not actually stamped 'HD' on the spring, so how do i know if its for the gemi or the vN?
id suggest looking in the normal section of the springs, low, standard and raised. i think you have yourself a set of "low" springs.
and the HD is heavy duty im pretty sure
i've just got Superlows, and they do the job just fine. They scrape on speed humps too, which is a bitch but what can you do.
unless you're worried about the car looking that extra inch lower, i would just go with Supers mate. Ultra is too low (in my opinion of course - each to their own) But i know how much the car scrapes with supers, and ultra's i imagine would scrape a whole lot more ( = not good)
gdai mr_slim, u got sum pics of urs?
im only lookin at puttin ultras in tha rear, with tha lows still in tha front, so im hopeing it wont scrape that much, cause the last thing i want to do is buy superlows then in 2weeks time sayy ohh sh*t i want it lower....
go ultra lows man... i got superlows all round looks good but ultras at the back would be nuts
guna ask my mate to order me these springs, just wana double check i got tha right 1s; KHRL-46SSSL for ultra-low in rear of VP V6 IRS?
and do monroe have shortened shocks for rear of vp, anotha bloke said dont got em for vp, if thats tha case should i order vr shortened 1s?
and wat r sum part numbers for shortened monroe rear shocks for VP (if avail. or vr)
cheers
lalalalalaaaa
anyone...................??? help with part numbers
Go have a look on www.monroe.com.au that where i got those part numbers yesterday for ya.
Monroe dont do a short shock for ours only for VR n up, dunno bout other manufactureres tho.
I think.... Pedders do a short shock for ours but that only goin off what i have read.
Go round the sites, they all have cross reference sections to check wat parts they have to fit.
hhahahaha, yes they do!
i have monroe shorts in my car.... unless your talking stricktly IRS, then i have no idea, but live axle shorts exsist.
aZk.
Incorrect. They do make the for VP.
Monroe Shocks:
MGR-118+ Lowered which is the Gas-Riser Shock Absorber
15-0232+ Lowered which is the GT Gas with Reflex Shock Absorber
17-0232+ Lowered which is the Sensatrac Shock Absorber
And yes that is for Lowered VP's with IRS (VP - I.R.S. w/- SS,FE2, or equivalent lowered susp., Only Sedans).
And as for the King Springs, that is the correct part number for Ultra Low King Springs, will suit IRS VP.
OK well i just went to Monroe and the 15-0232+ is the VN/VP/VR/VS IRS shock, there is no rear short shock.
In 1991-93 these are the p/n
Front = GT Gas w/- Reflex Cartridge 25-3632+
Rear = GT Gas w/- Reflex Shock Absorber 15-0232+
Now if u go to the site n choose if lowered or standard or raised it is the same part number for rear and front.
There is only a short shock for front on VR/VS rest are the same part no matter the height.
I had a arguement with repco over shocks as he was tellin me that there was no short shocks, i didnt believe him from what i had read, but i was wrong there is no short shocks, they say there are but there the same part number so how could they be different.
Sooo did anyone go check to see if i was right?
Been waitin to hear from ya's but nope not yet.
Anyway the lowered Rear VR/VS shock is the VN/VP Shock
There is a bigger shock for stock height that is this part number.
GT Gas w/- Reflex Shock Absorber 15-3137+ VR/VS Standard Shock
T-Roy u want the GT Gas w/- Reflex Shock Absorber 15-0232+ which is the only shock for VN/VP stock, lowered or raised
