yeah what he said, but i'd checkthe iac too, clean the thottle body and if you have a multi metre check the leads are ok.

can't say for sure it's one of these but they generally need doing on most cars anyway, so it can't hurt (unless you hurt yourself doing it, which you probably won't)

If it smells fuelly, then it would be getting fuel, just not igniting it so it would be more electrical. Is this the same car that recently had trouble with the ignition module? If it isn't, I'd be looking at that, or possibly coil.

ok.....well you can do a self disagnostic,if your confident enough, pull the plug from your ECU,now i'd say they would be the same(V6),you bridge A & B turn ignition on,but watch engine light as you do so,the light will flash a certain # of times if there is a fault, now i'm not in workshop, so i'm pretty useless to you at the moment, for code #'s i know that 12 is normal

    - - -(A)
    - - -(B) bridge these 2

    - - -
    - - - this is what your plug layout should look like

ok...one should be connected to ECU and one shouldn't be...am i correct for your 5.0L ? if so, i'd imagine it is the same(V6) use the one thats not connected to any thing.

    Ultra tune do injector cleaning.

There are also mobs that do it mobile soo they com to u, saves u havint to get car to workshop.

Or if u can get a hold of a ultra sonic cleaner that will do tha same job as them
