level 2 dash problems

i got pulled a level 2 dash cluster out of my wreking vs and put it in my vp (had the level 1) when i did this smoke started coming out the back of the dash and when i pulled it out the wiring on the back had burned and when i went to put my level one back it now it doesnt work. anyone got any ideas why it burned and why the level one dont work no more???

VS is wired differently

You cant put a VR/S cluster into a VN/P

i dont know if the vs cluster can go into a vp? did u trace the pcb board? sounds like u fried the cluster and something else, ecu maybe?

You need to get hold of a level 2 VN dash, and then pull the gauges out of the VS one and put into the VN back plane, you want to hope you have only fried the backplanes not the gauges themselves.
