Power line for amp through firewall

hey

i just got a amp for my vn s1 i need to run the power through my firewall how have everyone else done it

there is a rubber grommit drivers side either take out make hole in it repleace (bitch to replace) or poke hole in grommit while rubber still in firewall
grommit is oven shape and 3x5 cms aprox big

i just used the hole behind the washer bottle on mine, although mine is a vp auto

i pushed out the gromit for my bonnet cable puller thing n pushed it thru there i havent got wet feet yet so yer i guess you could put a bit of sillycone around the hole if your worried about water
