hi all i want to change the brand of oil i use to pennzoil platinum synthetic, and i was wondering if any one would know what the oil specs are for the vq statesman series 2, year 93??? i think it is 15w-40 but just would like another opinion on the matter, thanks in advance

As far as I know, holden reccomends 20w50 for the efi 5L. 15w40 is an option for those who live in a cold climate or have some other reason for wanting a thin oil. Running a thin oil on these things can cause you to run into oil pressure problems as they have chronically low OP anyway. Plenty of people doing it anyway though.

EDIT: If I remember correctly, there's a pennzoil synthetic 15w50? Or it might be 5w50, something like that anyway. That might be worth a try.
