I went to the drags tonight 1/8th mile. I was heaps happy with how it turned out, I ran several 9.3 second passes at above 75 mph, I didnt even bother racing other 5 litres that were there later in the night because I could just rip them off and line and then pull away so easy. So I had a run against a VY SS with a zoorst he got a *slightly* better time than me but I still beat him off the lights and won the race fairly easy, I drove past him on the shift to 2nd to. That made my day.
I met VQ Rat too, hes a nice guy so that was good and my mates Silvia that we tuned last night smashed it's PB, old was 9.1 and it ran a 8.6 tonight and was perhaps the fastest daily driven car there tonight (it gets driven 200ks to tafe and back almsot every day). I got beat by a like 600 hp Torana:P and a VB/C? that had a fair chunck of power too. And a supercharged VX SS beat me too. Apart from that I won all the races I had
damn thats a good time.. is it just in the tune? or is there something u been doin to her, that we dont know about yet?![]()
Pretty much just the tune and a little bit of excess fat removal. But yeah the old beast was pretty strong tonight. I'm confidant it would have pulled a 14.5 1/4 mile on any of those 9.3 runs if the track was longer. I've never heard of a VN/P with a stock exhaust doing that kind of time so It's good. I knew it was going to be fast because after I changed the oil (massive gains in power from the oil change today) and pulled the air con pump off I had a little gtech out the front and it ran a 5.76 to 60mph which is the fastest it's ever gone and that was just before I left to go to the drags
Good news man!
thats great to hear!
been folowing your progress with ya cars and im happy as that you ran those times! awsome work dude!
aZK.
well done mate
Matt

go foam! when we race it shall be a good match!
you need to go to a 1/4 milethe time sounds good for that speed, you must have got off cleanly. what was the exact speed?
how come you were only racing 1/8 mile?
Nearly all or all the tracks in the country are 1/8th mile. It costs ALOT of money to build a 1/4 mile track and not many drag racing clubs (none?) that are not owned by a big company can do it. It doesnt really matter anyway nothing happens after the first 1/8th mile, the rest is just driving down the road and waiting for a time that you allready know based on the first half a track
great times bud ya gotta be happy with that...good luck in the future...Andy
My Computer beat me at Chess....But it didnt win at Kick Boxing.
just looking at my time slips best of 14.2 but there was no 660 time the rest of the runs went from from 9.4 to 9.6 i realy dont no how you are working out ur 1/4 times with out actualy runing down the full lenght track
There's tables and calculations to to work it out from the weight and power, I allready knew my car would run a 9.4 1/8th and 14.6 1/4 mile a year ago before I removed some weight from the car so it's no big suprise for me. I'm 100% sure it would run between 14.50 and 14.59 on the 1/4 mile.
I know it wouldn't run a 14.2 like your car because I don't have that amount of top end power and I'd need a bigger exhaust and extractors on it to match that 14.2 but I'd be a car or two in front at the half way point
Are these times on good tryes? What size? I just wana know thats all.

I came across some super sticky remoulds for $70 each at my local tyre shop, they are 215's. Since rear tyres only last a few thousand ks on my VP, that's what I've been running. Next time I have some spare cash I'm going to buy 4 or 6 of them in 225's and wrap them up in plastic for later.. Before they stop making them just how they are now because they really are very sticky
whats the brand of them??? one of my mates from tradeschool worked at beaurepairs and he had some heaps cheap and sticky tires.... after a 5 minute drive the rocks in the carpark started to stick the tread it was crazy!

The ones on mine are called HIGHWAY with "Max" written in a radical style under the HIGHWAY, they have a different tread than your picture 88GreenVN, bit more complex tread. I'll get a picture of them later and post it in here
I only have one remould but with the new SV 3800 tune & CAI it may just spin the wheels yet (with the remould on)

I dont think a V6 would spin the ones I have even in a massive downpour of rain, my VP can still run 6 flat to 60 mph with them in the middle of a storm![]()
You bring AGRSSV here and film it getting beat by a VP with a Mcdonalds thick shake straw for a exhaust :P
