Ok, i got my keys out by pulling the door and hooking onto the keys with a coat hanger (it was easier because the keys were sitting on the seat) but now, the bonnet won't open because the bar wasn't sitting in it's place. any ideas? should i reach up from underneath to try and get it???

I'm so not having a good week

Considering an aftermarket alarm can be had for $300 or less these days, theres no reason to let your car drive itself away.

trouble is where i live, aftermarket ones are toys for these car jackers down here,i could tell you how to get it going...but for obvious reasons i'm not ,it's the factory fitted alarms that they are having troubles with here, they have managed to get into my car with out setting alarm off,but haven't worked out how to bypass the immobiliser ....although the proffessional car jackers can have a VN calais with all the security need to reassure you that it's safe, when in fact it's not, they can be in your car and have it going in 30 secs,an auto electrician showed me how to do it ...damned amazing.....they have tried my calais 5 times, they gave up on the 5th time, they couldn't work out how to overide engine immobiliser ...and hopefully it will stay that way...unless they get a pro to do it for them, but where i live, they wouldn't have the money or enough drugs to pay them

clublocks are great. note to anyone, if you have a clublock, turn it around on the steering wheel so the lock is facing the speedo. that way they cant drill them out, or at least as easily.

In my car, the wiring loom has been adjusted quite a lot for the alarm, the original wires have been cut and replaced at various places along the loom so anyone thinking to just cut in and rejoin some wires is in for a lot of fun.
Auto Sparkies can get into cars easy, but thats assuming that all the wires are correctly coloured etc...
Unless you know whats been done, you'd need to rerun your own wires to the fuel pump, starter, ignition etc, or else you would have to sit there and test each wire....
I'm not saying that its unstealable, but I just hope that the extra time factor is enough reason for someone to look at someone elses car instead.
