Default Will a VN series 1 manual g/box fit onto VP series 2 motor?

Guys i have a VP series 2 and ive just stripped the engine down to do a rebuild. I was looking at converting it to manual and have found a reasonably priced series 1 manual VN for sale. Will the conversion of the series 1 VN manal box to VP series 2 motor work? Is there any work involved if so, how much. Would it be worth rebuilding the VN motor?

Thanks, Ryan.

Hi Ryan

From memory, you will need a SII fly wheel as the SI ones are different, less bold holes or something. You will need to remove any bushes out of the end of the crank, and replace it with a spiggot bearing. You'll need to install the pedal box, which can involve unbolting the steering column. And, you may have to find a manual computer for it (not entirely sure on this one though).

Good luck with the conversion.

thats basically it....they will need a series 2 flywheel, starter motor from memory should be the same, manual insert in console and pedal box and obviously a clutch kit (new,or if the one with the gearbox comes with it,and is in good working order)and cable, as for the computer, not really neccassary,if standard pretty well calibrated the same
although a good second hand flywheel might cost you a bit ..anywhere from $200-$500
