Problem with P/steering

Hi Guys,
Having an issue with my Power Steering.
I have a 5.0LTR VN Wagon.
Slowly over time the steering has gotten lighter.
Since driving another VN and then a VR It made me realise
how bad mine had gotten, but driving it everyday I guess
you just get used to it.
Now the steering is really light, too light. If you give the wheel
a good throw it just about goes around on it's own.
I've put a new pump on it, but it hasn't changed a bit. (other pump
was leaking anyway)
The rack seems fine, the steering is not notchy, no squeals or grinding,
no leaks, just dangerously light and sloppy.
Car is lowered in the front only.
But before I replace the rack, just thought someone out there might
have come accross this before and maybe have a sollution.

do ya a swap bud??? lol it might have too high pressure running into the rack and forcing the rack to move faster than it should

What do you think might be causing it to happen?
Nobody seems to have ever come across it before.
