Hey guys had a problem the other day where my Vn v6 would run for a while then after stopping if u tried to restart it it just wouldn't start. give the tank a wack and it would start up. read through the forums and worked out that it sounded like the fuel pump. Anyway today ive replaced the fuel pump and the filter. first off it was running really rough. so i pulled off the line into the fuel rail and bled it so there wasn't any air in it. anyway once i put that all back together it seemed to be running fine. drove back and forth up and down the driveway a few times and it seemed to be running ok. went to take it for a bit of a run round the block. got half way round the block and she backfired and died. I'm at a complete loss. so if you guys could give me any ideas on what to be looking for it would be hugely appreciated
so did you manage to get it re-started,is it a new pump you put in or second hand?did you put fuel filter on the right way, check air filter,if it's running, try putting injector cleaner thru your fuel next fill up,theres all sorts of possibilities, from a crook plug, lead right thru to valves
could be the cas if the car was warmed up by then
We got rep back, yaaay!
yea it did get restarted once id changed the pump (brand new). and yes the filter is in the right way. air filters fine. and unless i can get it fixed and running its not having another fill-up for a while lol but i mean it had never missed a beat and then the other day i drove to a mates place to pick up some paperwork then when i got back into the car it wouldn't start. completely out of the blue
try the fuel pressure reg at the end of the fuel rail they colapse internally.
got the ****s with it all and booked it into a mechanic today so hopefully soon ill be able to tell ya what exactly was wrong with it
