hey
one of the reasons im off to regency is that my horn wasn't attached to my steering wheel and this was due to 2 of the black plastic studs that attach the horn to wheel breaking off
had a shot at removing them by unscrewing them but the soft plastic just crumpled under a pair of pliers
wondering if it is possible just to remove these studs and replace them or will have to get a new steering wheel?
any help much appreciated
sorry for the pic quality off my phone
I had the same trouble with my Calais steering wheel and the way i worked it out was to take the steering wheel off,cut the clips flat, then glue some new clips to the base of the wheel (i used a clip they call "christams tree" clips)
Then reassemble and the horn pad will accept these new clips
sounds good
thanks mate
I just fixed my Calais wheel with the same problem. I cut the broken lugs flat. Drilled a hole into the centre of the lugs on the wheel. I cut the donor lugs from a standard VN horn and drilled a hole in the centre of them too. Cut a small bit of welding wire that fitted the hole and used 5 min araldite to glue them in. Worked a treat. I have pulled the horn pad on and off about 10 times and alls good.

sounds even better
buuuut wouldn't that require another steering wheel...?
No just the horn cover. Here is some picks of the donor horn plastic bit and the finished job. Hard to see the repair but you can see a dribble of glue.
