Hey im just wondering about the possibility. Not sure on what series they all are, from a guess i'd say they are both series one..
I have a vn v6 5spd, and my bro has a vn calias 5ltr auto. He is rebuilding the engine fully, and while the engine is out, he has another one spare that will slot in to drive while he builds the original one. After the rebuild has been done, he will swap them back over, then he said i can have the spare one.
If i was to put that into my car, would my gearbox mate up or would there be some drama's?
I understand that the gearbox might not be as strong as the v8's, but i dont intend on hurling abuse at it. Often.
Cheers for any info i might receive, it is all much appreciated.
i dont believe the bolt pattern is the same between V6s and V8s. not 100% on the manuals, but i know the auto 6s run different patterns to 8s.. the 8s are chev verses the 6 which i think is referenced as the buick.
Spew. that isnt good then
nar not the actual engine type, its the trans bolt pattern, bellhousing bolt pattern. as u said above, u need to change to the v8 input shaft and bellhousing
the V8 bellhousing i think is chev bolt pattern where as the v6 bellhousing is buick
so what are v8 bellhousings and input shafts worth? this isnt a project or anything, just something that could be done. its only like a work hack anyway, no biggie. Cheers for the info
i thought both v6 and v8 are turbo pattern???
i'm also pretty sure the splines on the input shaft are the same but there are different length input shafts . i also believe the V6 T5 box has different ratios as well
