first of all, it's the starter motor that clicks, and check the terminals are tight and clean.
they are tight and clean, i went away for about a week and havent started the car in a while. if i jump start the battery will it be fine? nothing go wrong? who can i get to jump start it?

Got a multimeter or know someone who does? If so then check your battery voltage. A bloke on the other forum fitted a new battery recently only to find that it was dead flat.

nope, i wouldnt ring up and say the battery is ****
i would first do the following checks
1. make sure the terminals are tight, and free of goo
2. check voltage on battery, see if it's above or below the 12v mark
3. drop the center seat in the back seat down, and see if the boot light is on.
4. if boot light is on, remove the light bulb, and jump start the car.
5. check for sweeling on the side of battery cells
if you have to do anything for 1, or 5 take it back
3 will cause no 2 to happen.

Have you checked the alternator?
there's a few things that may possibly have caused it.

lol, I fail to see how that could ever be considered non-offensive. Anyway, that's what the forum is for, asking questions and learning from the answers. Let's face it, it's a long way from being the dumbest question ever asked in this forum. Given the average standard, it's quite reasonable really.

This is a good suggestion, particularly if it was running well with the new battery for a while. I didn't read the original post properly and assumed it wasn't starting right after a brand new battery was fitted. To check the alternator, once you've jumpstarted it, use the multimeter to check the charging voltage at 2000RPM, should be 14 point something volts if memory serves?

geez ask a question and i get hammerd, defeats the purpose of forums i reckon..thought it was for support not abuse, well i got the battery put it in, went for a drive that night on the way home the lights went dim, the stereo cut out, as i pulled into the drive way it stalled. Went away for a couple days tried starting it tonight and nothing. so use all reckon give it a jump start and it should be good. is my mums Vt ok for this as shes told me certain commys fry other commy's computers on jump start?

Ok, definitely sounds like an alternator problem. On the car providing the jump, attach the negative lead to an earthing point, like the lifting point on the engine. Some people also like to have the headlights on for the recieving vehicle. Personally I don't think it matters diddly squat. The reason you're copping attitude from some people is that this really is a very simple problem and some people forget what it was like when they were starting out and didn't know **** either.

id say the bushes in the alternator are to far worn down... (the black thing at the back of the alternator) they are fairly cheap and if havent been changed before id say theat they are well and truly due for them.
argh the bitch wont let me...."no it will blow up my car, no u need special jumper cables, bla bla"
