Dunno about VIC, but I got knocked back on a roadie for a faded tail light. The rest is fairly subjective. Depends on how bad it is. A chipped windscreen will get through, badly cracked wont. Brakes will get through as long as they pull up within legal specs. Ripped seat doesn't matter ****. Shocks, well once again depends how bad they are, if they pass a quick bounce test they'll probably get through.

It is possible to use a leadlighting paint to fix the old ones apparently, but it's fiddly as. You'd be better off going to your local wrecker and finding the best ones they have. Makes sure you argue about the price as well, I keep having to pay the asking price because I'm always desperate to get what I'm after. The main reason they picked up on mine was that one was more faded than the other, so it was obvious.

Its a good idea to put on seat covers as it wouldnt pass with ripped seats.Same goes with the carpet.

depends on the person, dad was a registered roadworthy guy a few years ago and knew what would pass and what wouldnt. when i took the vn through for roady, his "mate" knocked pads, which were in legal thickness, uni joints for the rubber boots being missing and a light scratch on the windscreen, all of which dad would have passed(and he never did dodgys).

took a old mazda ute to another guy and it passed first time. guess who im taking the vp to.

Are you for real? I've never heard of someone being failed for ripped upholstery. Dad's XC passed for years with a dirty great rip in the drivers seat.

With the lights, I passed a roadworthy the other day but had to replace the blinkers with orange globes since the plastic isn't as orange as it once was, I had to replace a boot on the passenger side IRS driveshaft too and new wiper blades?! mine were fine, sure they were old but they worked and weren't perished or anything so that was the thing I was most unhappy about

yeh, they will probably knock the handbrake.

the uni joints have little rubber boots on themjust to stop dirt n crap getting into them, they fall off over time, even if the uni is still nice n tight, some will knock it.
