I was checking my engine number to whats on the rego papers and the number that is on the rego papers has 9 numbers and the one on my engine only has 8they are the same numbers but just missing a 4 at the end on the block.
It doesn't look like it's been filed or anything either![]()
maybe thats just a code for something.. ie; v6 v8.. im no expert but its a possibility
LIFES A GARDEN, DIG IT..lol
I'm going with typo, they did the same to a car I had licenced after I restored it.
Definitely wrong. Should have 'VU' followed by six digits. Unfortunately I think you'll have to take it along to the local registration office for them to sight the number and arrange for your registration to be changed. That's what I had to do when I changed my engine recently.
thats incorrectif it's a VN it will have VN ***H**(example only) but the VN will always start with VN,i still say it's a typo,but this chappy maybe right,you may have to take it back to be sighted,but highly doubtful as the relevant authorities know how many #'s are in an engine # or VIN #
V6 = VH
V8 = VU
Some HSV cars have other codes
White 05 V6 VZ Executive - Thrashed Ex Telstra car
and 3 Dangerous non ABS VN's
i bought a car that had an extra 0 in the engine number. my dads chrysler by chrysler was a 1900 instead of 1975. they are dip****s and always stuff things up. it is a government department.
The amount of data these people enter on a daily basis they are bound to make a few typos. Just because they a make a few errors doesn't make them dip****s.
that they are - stupid buggers 4got to enter my details from a transfer form for the old car, but wrote in the ex's. - biatch tried to sell it on me reguardless of havin nuttin to do with it (she was supposed to pay 4 rego etc - drivin her to work every day, so put her on the rego.....). Had to bail up a supervisor and have him get the form returned from central filing to verify their f*ckup. car got stolen later in the year anyway, and never recovered. F&ckers.![]()
