    Default Climate Control Install??

While I was thinking about electric mirrors, I also thought of climate control.

What is needed to install this apart from the main unit? If I was to go to a wrecker and get all the stuff what else would I need?

The complete HVAC box, along with the climate resistor and climate control loom... I would take the entire loom if I was you. But you need the green climate plug on the loom as this needs to be wired into your loom.

Also, you need the solar sensor which sits in the demister vents and the ambient temp sender which sits at the front of the car somewhere... There are plenty of pics in my ride thread (around page 21 i think) of all the bits needed.

I have to finish the instructions for this too... I forgot hehe...

If you were in SA you could go to Just Commodore Spares, they quoted me $550 for all parts need. Bit expensive most prob. I've seen full conversion kits on ebay for a VR/VS go for around $250.

Hahahaha, I'll check out your ride thread, then I'll start scouring for a cheap set of the parts. Was it hard to do?

Umm the wiring is the easy bit..

Getting the heater hoses through the firewall is a pain in the ass and the swapping of the HVAC boxes in general... And you might wanna drain the cooling system if you dont want coolant everywhere as it leaks out the HVAC box when you remove it.

Other than that... Getting the dash back in can be a pain too, especially getting it to sit 100% correctly without a rattle. My centre console has dropped down on the left hand side but I can fix that, also I had an issue with the fusebox cover as it seemed to not be large enough when I put it back in, but it was because I had a loose screw on the left side of the dash so the dash was sitting out a bit at the bottom.

My post here pretty much explains it...

The HVAC boxes are different... As in the heater box. Theres a climate loom which needs to be added (it has 10 wires in it [though 1 wire splits and goes to two sensors]). Theres a solar sensor in the demister vents and an ambient temp sender near the radiator.
