sorry guys if this has been covered before, but I cant find any previous threads on it.
I keep getting a code 22 come up when I dagnose the ECU. I have replaced the IAC and TPS and checked the wiring cleared the codes reset the iac, but after some driving the code reappears.
I have found in another thread that 22 is TPS voltage too low, does anyone know if any other sensor problems will affect this code? When i looked ant the wiring diagrams the map sensor and coolant temp sensor are interwired and I am wondering whether the operation of these affect the TPS.
The only other thing I think I should mention is that Im running no speed sensor because I have the motor on a volkswagen box.
Im doing a 2000km trip in a weeks time so any help would be greatly appreciated
cheers
ryan
The gearbox/no speed sensor could be an issue - if its been doing it (code 22) from when you put the box in. Else it sounds like a connector is not making good contact. Go over any connector/s that you pulled off to change the TPS and have a real good look at them with a good light source. Spray some good contact cleaner stuff in them - and check the earths while your at it.

Yeah I got the same prob, code 22. I've tried everything except replacing it an the new ones comming this week, I'm hoping that will fix it but by the sounds of it it may not. I tried cleaning the connections an everything but no luck. Did you do anything to it before the code come up? Mine started when I cleaned out the throttle body
gggrrrr next time I'll leave it dirty

Have you noticed anything different about the way it drives now to how it was before? mine just doesn't sound an go right IYKWIM .
one thing I've noticed when ya start cleaning things and fixing stuff it seems to stuff other things up ggggrrrrr it's just never ending![]()

Well ive replaced all the wiring now as well and when i went to drive it to work today it died halfway through the roundabout about 1km from home.
When I pulled the tps off the spacer was missing that goes between the tps and the shaft, I didnt worry about it because Ive done 10000ks without it but ive ordered one and i have my fingers crossed.
I have the motor ti a vw combi so its a bit hard to compare how it drives biteme.
According to the factory manual if the wiring is not damaged and the tps sensor is ok,a defective map sesor will cause a low voltage code to appear.
built not bought
my mates vn is missing the little rubber and spring off the shaft too but goes fine still has never had it since hes had the car
Well I got he spacer, it doesnt fit! Im thinking the vn series 1 doesnt need one but there is no way that it will fit between the sensort and the shaft.
Ive replaced the map sensor, crank angle sensor and coolant temp sensor now and she has never run betterer.
Time will tell, i have my fingers crossed, im supposed to do 1000ks to byron on sunday she'll be getting a flogging between now and then.
Thanks for your help guys and if u ever see a vw combi fly past u at 160km/h
thats me and its commodore powered!
got pics of the vw???
