I had a previous post about rough idling and after following a guide to clean the IAC, Throttle Body, TPS and run codes (Error Code 12) the idle has gone from around 550 to 850-900 and is not longer stalling when placed in gear but the revs do drop abit.

when you changed the coil pack did you change the control module underneath or just the coil pack on top,(i'm guessing its a choc block) because i made this mistake and after i changed the bottom control module the problem was fixed
Have you done a code check? Could be the TPS.
I haven't changed the coil pack (S1 Choc Block) at I don't know anyone who has one to loan and I don't want to spend money as it is not my car (Even if I did pay for a replacement, I would most likely never see the money) . I had a look at the kick-down cable near the throttle and there is a circlip that moves very freely (There is also a bit slack in the cable).
I will run the error codes again to see if anything else turns up.
I have now replaced the leads, spark plugs and fuel pressure regulator. I have also cleaned the IAC and checked the coil pack and dfi cable. The engine when in neutral will have a little rock (alot different from before causing the whole car to shake and rattle) . When placing it into gear now, it feels like there is no power at all. I was driving it along and I was lucky if I could get it to 50K in second gear with the accelerator flat on the floor. I have run error codes again and nothing is showing up. I have also included some screenshots on WinALDL data. Also when in neutral and the car is revved to 4000RPM, you can hear a pop from the engine bay.
Previous suggestions say that it could be a faulty coil pack and control module. Can the Series 1 version be replaced with the Series 2 Circle Version? Also would a faulty coil pack and control module cause it to be sluggish and hard to gain speed?
Thanks to everyone for the help. Finally found out what was causing the rough idle and stalling...
...(Drum Roll)....DFI module attached to the coil pack. Replaced the whole unit and now it is purring like a kitten...![]()
