hey fellas and ladys. carrs been sweet last few months but lately we have had lots of rain (thank god) but wen ever it pours and my cars hits puddles my enigne light comes on but nothing bad happens, all sweet but yesty same thing hit a puddle and my enigne light came on and engine cut out, this wen on and off for about 30 seconds, i pulled over looked under the bonnet and seen smoke coming the right of the engine block and stank really bad, kinda like burning wire. but that was it, nothing else. all stopped. she started fine all oil is fine, and now if i really boot or sometimes does it but there is no specific reason for it to happen???? any clues. thanks
Hmm not good - water is shorting out something. I'd be looking for something that is exsposed. As normally you can just about sink a vn and it will keep going!!
I think you could get a jug of water and see if you can replicate going through water while the car is running.

yeah ithought that already samuels but it doesnt quite fit. it wouldnt cause the smoke and the stentch of melting wire. i noticed one of my coils is cracked, im thinking maybe water getting in there, that would explain cut out, and the stentch maybe a spark plug over loading and the lead melting but then does that mean it would have greyish smoke![]()
Hmmm ,did i see on the news not so long ago VIC got floods? was that in your area...maybe water is just reaching coil pack or splashing up onto it,or you may even have a bad earthing or circuit,if you have greyish smoke, because when water hits something electrical in engine bay it's a white smoke isn't it,that usually puffs up
