VP Calais Climate Control

Can anyone help.

I have a VP Calais and am having problems with the air conditioner, when the air cond is on and as I am driving the car the compressor continually cuts in and out, it doesn't stay on long enough to cool down, I have had it to air cond experts, Holden service agents and they all say the same thing, they reckon it's a problem with the climate control module, all the pressures are to spec, plenty of gas, not over or under charged. I fitted another climate control module and it does exactly the same thing, so for summer I ran a seperate switch to the fan and compressor and it works fine, but I would like to have it working through the climate control module.

I would appreciate any feedback if someone has had a similar problem and how it was overcome.

Do a diagnostic check.
Turn on ingintion and within in about 10 seconds hold down off button,
All displays should appear.
Then hush hot button, Should display number 20 if all sensors are ok.
If a sensor is at fault it will display another number from 21 up. may be a minus sign before,
If there is let me know before you go on so i can look up which sensor is at fault and how to test it.
If ok, press hot again to check modes.
Check for air flow in vents.
If there is a fault it should display a number form 31 up.
If not, press hot again to check readings.
Get back to me if you get this far so i can go thru it more but im thinking it will come up with code 25, which is the sun sensor.

Thanks for the reply V8 Berlina, I did the check and it does come up with 25, what do I have to do to rectify this now.

You will need to check the wiring. The sun sensor can be tested but you need 80 and 100 watt globe to do so.
If theres no problem with the wiring replace the sensor and see what happens.

I have a similar problem with my air with my climate control, I have taken it to a air con expert and they have done the climate control diagnostic check and said everything was to speck. I have followed your instructions and when I have pushed the hot button it first displayed 20 after I done it a few times it now displays 25, could you please tell me what sinsor it is. Or email me the pages, as I have taken my car to a few places and it has cost a lot of money and time and would love to have my baby fixed

Can anyone help me

i have a vp calais with climate control my air con works fine but it seems to cut out for too long about 15 to 20 sec. The air starts to get warm then it kick back in it doesent seem right to me
