Ok I got a V6 and I’m running a set of high-tech extractors and a 2 ½ inch red back exhaust. I used to have a pod air filter but recently changed it over to a bigger induction CAI and I have noticed my car doesn’t sound as beefy was it did.
Just curious if anyone has any idea how I can make it sound tougher with out changing my set up to much. And how much it would set me back
Thanks guys
Nick
its probably just you, my car was heaps loud when i first got it but you get used to the sound hence for wanting more!!, really it is still loud, to people that havent herd ur new exhaust its loud! but to you who hears it everytime, its normal.

is it possable to get some kind of new muffler put on or something alike ?
Changing the intake from a pod will make it quieter to you because the intake noise is quieter. Do you have a rear resonator? Removing that will make it louder.
yea mine has a 2 1/2 inch, with the lukey muffler with no resi ..sounds pretty mintcant wait to get extractors

Na my car was heaps quieter with a resinator. I have a 2.5 inch redback cat back. It was too quiet so took off the ressie, n now its sweet as.
Australia. Love it or leave it
i went to a exhaust place, and told them to cut it off and replace it with a straight pipe. it costed $45 to do

The resonator is the round muffler at the very back of the car. Cutting that off and replacing with pipe will make it louder.
The resonator takes out certain frequencies in the exhaust making it a bit quieter, the bigger the resonator the quieter it will be.
Just have a look under your car lol, go to the back and look under, if there is a muffler near the tip of your exhaughst then you have a resonator.
Y'all want loud? Then run a 2.5 inch straight through pipe from the cat back. That'll give you loud. Might be an idea to keep the original exhaust handy though, for when you need to get the thing undefected every month or so.
Beau Duke: Man, I'm never gonna get outta this car again. I'm gonna live in it, I'm gonna eat in it and I'm gonna make sweet love to it!
Luke Duke: You mean you're gonna make sweet love IN it.
Beau Duke: Oh no, I'm gonna have sex with it.

how long u had ur extractors and exhaust when i got my pacemakers 2 weeks ago it took about a week for all the droning to go
To be totally legal dont you have to have a resonator? What are the requirements for a legal system?
take of the resinator and maybe a hotdog tip?
i think u can still get these anyways
i had the set up for maybe 9 months.
thanks for ur help guys.
i have hi-tech headers, a redback 2.5 inch with a chamber muffler (glass removed) an no rear resonator, pod filter, sounds as goood as your ever going to get it.. a cam will give it that chunky sound but other than that
Don't blame me, It's that damn percadan..
If you ask me, that stuff rots your brain...
And now a word from our new sponsor.. Percadan? oh crap!
Why do you want to make the V6 loud it's farrrrrrr better for the general popualtion to keep them silent because they sound pretty dodgy. Concentrate on speed rather than noise![]()
Um sometimes if your car quietens down, it can be a deteriorating cat converter, get a new one and see what happens, it happened to me once, fitted a 2.5inch redback cat back, about 2 months later it lost power and went quiet, i bashed the cat out and back to normal it was.
