comming home from work a few nights ago, it was raining, so i need to put my windscreen wipers on. Something was scratching onto the windscreen, i couldnt stop really it was pooring with rain, anyway i come home, and one of the blades had come off.
early in the morning i noticed theres a big scratch that goes around the passenger side windscreen, i was wondering if anyone knows if i could get this scratch out, it looks terrible, and makes the car look bad now because of it
thanks

There are some places that can fix chips, bullseye and some scratches to windscreens. Have a look in the Yellow Pages.
going by what your describing, the scratch will be too deep to repair, and you'll probably need a new window.
hopefully not tho, like others have said, find a window place and they should be able to tell you for sure.

its not a very deep scratch, but its like dark brown as was the colour of the windscreen blade, (which has been replaced now, a bit late though) dont think its covered for insurance though.
When you put your fingers along it, you cant feel any scratch on the surface

are you sure its not just paint transfer from the wiper onto the glass, just try any cut and polish compound see if that helps
No no no....cut and polish will leave swirl marks in the glass, I tried this on a side window that i scuffed with a sander. Was taking a door back to metal and had the window up, the sander touched the glass. Tried polishing it out and all it did was leave swirls that you can see in the sun. On a windscreen this would be worse. Use a stanley blade to see if you can scrape the mark off. If you can't it is a scratch and probably can't be removed.
found out the name of that cream for removing scratches....rouge (ro-ooge) it comes in a powder form, mix it with water, takes out blemishes and is ideally suited for small depths scratches, however it will remove deep scratches, but it's to time consuming for the deep ones.
thanks, i go and check it out on the weekend, and let ya know

toothpaste is really only for non hardened surfaces...wood,carpets,etc,etc....you know what i mean about hardened surfaces, because i know someone is going to say wood is hard![]()
It's called jeweller's rouge. It's the paste they use when polishing gemstones. You should be able to get it from a glazier or a lapidary supplies (gemstone stuff) store. Polishes glass and chrome, real well.
No it's not NOS it's LPG
Good Rep points are always welcome
