Default door handle , sniper button

so for my birthday yesterday i got some sweet billet aluminium door handles(monzo)

i've been out in the car for 2 hours now trying to remove the windscreen winder handles. ive tried a rag behind it,wire behind it, 2 flat tip screw drivers and try to lever it off. but it just not budging. also i need to remove the door lock button so i can pull the trim off because i got some k&h vynil paint to paint the door trims.
i tryed sticking a flat tip screw driver(mini one) behind the red clip and levering it back but its no moving either. my dad said if we cant get it off soon hes gonna cut the door handle off with a hacksaw.then break the plastic around it. in the workshop manual i got it says i need a door handle remover and a sniper button remover although im not going to by them on my woolies pay. and nothing is open to tomorrow.

I bent the two middle prongs of a fork out of the way and used it to push the clip off the winder handle the locks you have to flick out the red part and theres a screew behind it holding it on

a rag or clothe is the best way, you need to pull the handle and look to see the position of the clip, the slide the edge of a rag down so it will catch on the end of the clip and pull off, with the orage tabs its pretty hard to get off without damaging it, get a really fine ended flat blade screwdiver and wedge it underneath the orange part and just lever it up.

From memory the snipper button can be moved just using a thin but firm piece of wire, filed down and highly scientifically bent coat hanger will do the trick if you don't have any tie wire handy. Just hook it behind the red tab and pull. I like Spanner's idea of how to get the circlip off from behind the window winder as well. I reckon that'd work brilliantly.

The window winder tool cost about $5, so even on a woolies pay, you'll still be able to get one (i know you have them off now, but it'll still come in handy other times)

The easiest way i know to get the locks off, is to get the pins used to remove a CD player from the bracket. put them either side of the red part, and pull outward. keep in mind not to pull them all the way off, as they wont go back on properly if you bend the backs of them

Then pop the lock off, and the screw (as mentioned above) is behing that, which will then let you take the surround off.

I found using the tip of a corkscrew gets the red tabs out of the door lock knobs....well that's the alcoholic's method anyway

The red clips are $3 fro Holden. I found a small flat blade screwdriver gets them off. Or you can just break them off and buy new ones.

Yeah I've used a knife and a thin screw driver. Just lever one side off slowly and it should come off (I've only ever snapped one of the red tabs and I have taken my door trims off way too many times)
