Hey guy im vuying new alternator tommorrow and i got a few quotes that seemed way more then i expected, i asked holdens they said over $200, i asked sprints they said $180..i was told itd be below $100 so when i herd this i was shocked!

I replaced the regulator only for around the 50 dollar mark. So didnt need a new one

a genuine one is roughly $240..... your paying for warranty aswell when you buy genuine
one from the wreckers would only be about 50 bucks or less? Its not that common for them to play up so i reckon its worth the risk buying one used for the money you would save...

You might not need the whole thing if just the regulator and brushes part at the back is worn that's a 50-60 dollar trick
yeh like others have said, just get it reconditioned for about $50 ,unless its truly rooted
get one from a wreckers, look for one thats clean and also try to find one with a sticker on top which will tell you how old it is only cost you $25 then.
