immortality, use oxi polish on it, or something else with a LIGHT cut in it. go over all your paint too, not just the marks. You could use a final polish after that as well if you love your paint . good luck

and yeah, airstrike, the paint comes up SO much smoother hey. acrylic paint + clay = awesome

Clay bars are awesome they get the paint so much cleaner and the reflection off it is amazing once polished. Did it on my car a little while ago and was amazed at how much stuff came off it, I thought it was clean until I hit it with the clay bar. The SS came up great mate nice work.

WTF thats better then new. fully sick looking ride. the VN SS always was an awsome ride. time to get some more of those mods done whilst it's off the road, less chance of you driving it that way. nice

by the way, which spring you running in that?

King Springs. Superlows in the front, and ultralows in the rear.
They are coming out soon, going another inch lower in the front and prob an inch and a half in the ass.
Also there is no chance of me driving it, a low, loud red car stands out a little The locals no me too well.

I did this a few months back too after reading about it here on these forums and i was pretty impressed. Just rubbing your hand over the paint before you use the clay bar, you can feel tiny bumps everywhere, and afterwards its as smooth as glass. Makes the 17 year old paint look brand new (if its not faded )

If i remember its around $35 and you get a bottle of Meguiars quik detailer and a clay bar. The clay bar is pretty much a massive piece of bluetak (or feels like it) but its white, and the quik detailer is use to lubricate the surface of the car so the clay bar slides over it easier. Its pretty simple to use and you cant go wrong really. Spray on the detailer, then rub the clay bar over it. There are instructions on the pack like most things..

As said.........I paid $29.98 for mine. Comes with a bottle of speed detailer and a clay bar. Basically you spray a decend amount of the speed detailer on the surface and then with mederate pressure run the bar over the surface. If it sticks or catches spray some more on. Once the surface of the bar is dirty (goes a gray colour) you fold it over and use a new side. Piece of piss, took around 30-45mins to do the whole car.

Well I am very happy, I went out this morning after reading this yesterday and thought what the hell I was a bit skeptical since my paint work is in reasonably good nick other than a few chips here and there which you would expect given the age.

I got home and did the whole car and was amazed despite it looking really clean the bar was nice and dirty by the end with plenty of turns whilst using.

It took a little while to get used to having never used anything like it before but a little tip for anyone, as the directions suggest spray from a distance to get the best coverage of spray and ensure where the bar is heading is moist already otherwise the bar will get stuck very easily and leave marks which might I add comes off very easy with a quick spray and wipe off.

I won't worry about pics, we all know what it looks like but none the less I'm happy with the end result.

I think I might attack the ute lid with it. Its a big flat panel basically and all the scratches and swirls show up badly after a good wash.

Any idea how long the Meguiars clay stuff has been around? I drop into usual to my local parts supplier and have never noticed it sitting there, then again it's not something I use each time I wash the car.

i am thinking of giving this clay bar a go but i was just wondering what it will do to my paint, coz its faded very bad in some spots (i can see silver metal on the top of my rear left door) and my rear left quarter has clearcoat missing, and there are some deep scratches on my bonnet. If anyone has attempted to do this on a car with such paint damage could you let me know what happens, coz i dont want to take more off. i hope it will work well.
    Cheers
