Angry Ignition Control Module + check engine light

My car was playing up heaps a while ago, and would cut out and when i turned the ignition on the check engine light wouldn't come on and the car wont start, but i could arc C and D out on the diagnostic link with the ignition on and the check engine light would come on and the car would start, but tonight the car wouldn't start and i couldn't get the check engine light to come on.. i think it might be the ignition control module has **** itself, but does anyone else have any ideas what would be causing this?

my mates car did that the other day(it would turn over but it would not fire)and when u turn the key to the reds theres was no reds and the prob ended up being fuse number 9 i think it was so we replaced that and it started 1st go.

so are you getting the reds at all or is it just the engine light thats not coming on?

i'm not 100% sure on factory fitted anti theft, but aftermarket set ups are wired into the fuel pump line,so when you go to try and start it,you won't hear the fuel pump whirring until you dis-arm the engine immobiliser.
you talk about anti theft...is yours factory fitted? if so i wouldn't mind betting it's the lock in your glove box, they can give up the ghost just like that, has happened to me,replaced lock and away she went, got engine light back on......sorry i didn't even think of it, at first,as i have only had it happen to me once, but i have heard it can be a common occurance.

yes ....because the motor was immobilised, have it checked first,(lock in glove box)in case it's not...but thats how mine went
next time ...when you get it going, you watch, on the dash, the engine light only comes on when you press the remote(on factory fitted anti-theft systems)

my lock is in the passanger door, but i don't have the remote or the key, so it is swiched off. but i have it going now, it was a wire on the bcm that wasn't conected properly from when i put a vs dash in on friday and the check engine light was the plug at the back of the cluster wasn't making contact, but i thought it was the same problem as i was having a while ago. thanks for your help and suggestion anyway.

maybe your fuel pump get someone to turn the key to get the motor crancking and someone to bash the fuel tank under the car
