it was a busy easter, the rear gasket under my intake manifold had broken so i had to pull the manifold off and replace the gaskets. i also had this annoying pulsing/ticking noise which i thought was a lifter so i replaced the lifters. cleaned the injectors while i had the manifold off, put it all back together again. purrs like a kitten. the injector clean did wonders - i'd recommend it.

except the ticking turned into a thunking. before i could barely feel it through the break pedal. now you can feel it throughout the whole car. made it easier to find though... it's like a pressure backlash through the fuel lines each time an injector bank fires.

to describe it another way... fuel lines are under pressure, and when i fire off the injectors, the whole fuel system goes thunk. at idle it thunks 3 - 4 times a second. damned annoying.

now i figure it's thunking now instead of ticking before because the injectors where all clogged up and are firing clean now... but i'm sure it's not supposed to thunk. anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of the thunk? or what's supposed to stop it? i figure there was something which acted as a accumulator or pressure regulator which isnt working properly...
