Our son (16) being the responsible boy that he is, blew up his gearbox on the weekend
. His car is a V6 auto, and I was just wondering if other commodore models are compatible with the VN. Or if it has to be a VN gearbox?

Transmissions don't like going from R to D when the engine is redlining .....![]()
im not sure about the compatability.
vn s1 and s2 run different crank bolts, need to change crank, stick with what it is, i.e. if it's a vns2, use a vns2.
i am the god of britany spears womanizer on just dance on the wii
that's only manual to auto when changing the flywheel.
had mine rebuilt by a m8, he used good second hand bits and it only cost me 500 skins fitted.
I like to have my own stuff repaired
Best of luck Phillip Mildura
glad to hear
all a conversion is for 5 speed , if series one, cheapest way out of it is to replace auto motor with manual, unplug your ECU wiring from behind kick panel, slide wiring thru and sit it on top of motor, pull out old motor and box(naturally once you have everything undone and the required things removed, like the tailshaft etc)
if series 2,just remove auto and flex plate, finding a manual flywheel for a series 2 may take a bit of hunting down, here in tassie any ways, once thats sorted, replace with manual flywheel, clutch kit, clutch cable, and removing plastic insert in console to accomadate new gear stick.
