    Default Sticky throttle

Hey guys i got the blower running on the vp and a 70mm TB and when i was changing the TB over i broke the plastic clip on the kickdown cable, i i did a dodgy repair on it an took it for a drive, and the the car wouldn't idle below 1500rpm(at a dead stop) so i jumped out and adjusted the idle, drove off and same happened again... i also noticed if i was cruising along then took foot off accelerator pedal it would hold the revs and just stay at the speed.
I got under the bonnet earlier today and had a look and came up with these findings:
Car not running- push on accelerator pedal TB opens and closes like normal.
Car running rev it then back off the trottle stay in the same spot, for a bit then slowly closes, but doesn't close 100%, which causes 1500 rpm idle, but if ya push the butterfly on top of tb shut it stays shut and idles fine.

We came to the conclusion that the boost was causing it to stay open, and confirmed that by running the car with out the blower running.

Any body had similar problems, or got any ideas on how to fix it?

is your blowoff valve working proply, with mine as im slowing down i had to tap the accelerator pedel so the bov went off and let some pressure out..
maybe u could put a spring on the t/b butterfly.
are u running the standard pully or a smaller one.

I've go the bov that comes from crs(recirculates the air) dunno if it works, any ways to check? And i'm running the standard pulley, i was running vacuum off the map sensor and i moved it to the fuel pressure vac, but it's still the same.

i don't know what the standard crs ones look like can u post a pic. when the car is idling at 1500rpm u should be able to hear the air being pumped out of the bov, or remove the pipe that the air gets recircluated throough and see if u can feel any air being pumped back through.

hey 10000 fists im havin the same prob as you but i dont know what ive done wrong, i recently removed that bellmouth out of my vp, put everything back together, now i start my car and it idles higher than 1500rpm (with bellmouth out) same if im driving along it will hold the revs and stay at a continuous speed at around 50-60, if you figure out how to fix yours let us know ay

i had this problem, once i reset the ECU it went fine again..
also getting a service done helped, as they adjusted the throttle and kick down cable.

I checked and the bov is working, so i tried a spring like mat said it works but is very dodgy and i can't get 100% throttle but i's the only way to stop it from holding its revs, i've taken the 70mm TB off an i'm going to put on the standard one, cause it was fine with that on...

EDIT: i might try reseting the ecu then i didn't even think of that... let yas know how i go with it all.

id definately reset your ECU and IAC. with the TB open the same angle as the v6 one when idling, youre letting in a lot more air, especially with the blower.

discounect your battery for a couple mins, put it back on then rev ur car to 3000 revs for about 20 seconds, youll know its working cause youll hear it going up and down through the revs'...itll go higher and lower reving..

Just pull the EFI fuse, saves resetting saved presets on your headunit, etc.

Hey guys.I had the same problem with my car when i out a 70mm tb on. It idles at like 1500 upwards. I found that quickly tapping the accelerator with my foot at idle would make it return down to its normal idle. Im not sure whether it was because the spring was new and was tight or something else..but it works.

did u try taking it for a drive and while slowing down giving the acc a tap to let the bov let out a bit more pressure, or even while its idling give the throttle a tap, the bov might not be leting enough pressure out because it's not getting enough vacume.
