Default ignition troubles with 90" vn exec

hey, i have always had trouble with the ignition since the previous owner ripped the imobiliser out (normally takes 1 or 2 starts on some occasions). Today it has gotten worse, whenever i have the car on and then turn it off it takes about 1 - 3 hours to actully start again. it is turning over and everythings working but not starting. if anyone can help i would be greatful, if it aint the imobiliser does anyone know what else it could be and how to fix it since i really dont have money spare for a while and need my car thanks

Do you know how to check the error codes? Checking your Computer for Faults (VN - VP) Its a classic symptom of the crank angle sensor. I don't think it would have anything to do with removing an immobiliser.

I have the same problem at the moment. Though when my car starts it sometimes backfires and just dies while i am driving it. I am pretty sure its the Crank Angle Sensor since the ecu is saying its that but does the crank angle sensor cause it to backfire and die when driving cause i am thinking its more of a serious problem. It has only been doing it since the Crank Angle Sensor has gone, can anyone say for sure it is just the crank angle sensor or would it be something else aswell thanks

change the balancer and the sensor together (new ones) theyre a wear and tear item like plugs and leads, but less frequent...
