VN engine difference? series 1 and 2?

Hey there guys, great forum.

I'm about to do an engine swap on my '89 VN V6 and was just wondering if the series 2 engines are the same. Will bolt up to auto, wiring loom etc....

Any insite would be great!

should do,the only difference that i know of is the cooling system and crankshaft and the memcal, apparently ,was tamed down,but the fellas on here that muck about with memcals, can definately tell you if thats correct or not...
