Hey Airstrike, I was running faster times than a FIT powered L67 VS statesman

Edit: Here's another run, this time against a modified LS1

Nah nothing major just a tune and 2.5 inch catback. I ran a 9.212? just before like 30 minutes ago but I can't get traction often and my other runs are over 10 seconds so I came home to get some other tyres. Gota go back again now :P. I've lost half a mph to the weather and maybe to bp ultimate so anyway. I have to go back now and try run that 9.1 when it cools down a bit

I didn't end up running a 9.1, I thought I would have as the night got cooler but the event got rained out. I ended up with a best of 9.203 @ 76.39mph I was down a few rwkw today from yesterday, I made the mistake on trying BP ultimate today when really I know deep down and allways have known since I've had the gtech that it is a little less explosive and little slower than BP 95 and that cost me the 9.1, The track was stickier today and my 60 foots were better, hey even my times were better but if I still had the same mph as last night I would have run in the 9.1's tonight. Interesting how the small details can cost you a milestone I mean we are only talking 2 or 3 kw difference but it sure shows up on the timeslip. I'm almost certain that my VP is making mid 150 rwkw at the moment, well say 155ish maybe a little closer to 160. It's hard to say because I don't really know exactly how much it weighs. Anyway that's the story for the moment, there's going to be one or two street legal meetings in Winter so I'll try go faster then, diff gears and a LSD are next on my important list because if I'm going to be bracket racing I have to eliminate all possible wheelspin to make consistant times

What was modified? Seems like only had a zorst as that way very slow for a tuned LS1, listening to the shift would say it was untuned.

    Good solid runs though.

The LS1 is tuned, the guys a good tuner, there is some real fast LS1's around here and he tunes them all at the local dyno (they are faster than his, he's a cruisey kind of guy and I don't think he cares too much about going fast). I don't think there's much else done to it besides the tune though, the Monaro was running under 8.5 1/8th miles today on slicks and pulling 85 mph so it's good for low 13's I'm guessing they are a pretty heavy car. A untuned LS1 with a exhaust only makes about 78mph over the 1/8th mile and runs about that same times as me, stock ones are not that fast. I never fear a stock LS1 because they are slugs off the line and they dont wind out till a 1/8th mile is well and truely over . I thought listening to his Monaro that it's a manual since he goes through 3 gears doesn't he? but I could be wrong, my VP is the one screeching the tyres into 2nd

It works the same as a 1/4 mile except its half as long, everything else is the same. When you run a 1/4 mile the 660 foot ET and MPH are the 1/8th mile stats.

The majority of drag tracks in Australia are are 1/8th miles. There's only a handfull, maybe 10? 1/4mile tracks in the whole country and they are almost all in capital citys. You're never going to get a 1/4 mile track made by a local club, only big corperations or governments have that kind of cash.

The best thing is there's heaps of 1/8th mile tracks all around here, there's a fairly big deal track in Ballarat, Warrnambool race on one of the runways at the airport. Casterton is about the ultimate place for a street race they race on a closed off bit of road, Casterton drags is about as cool as it gets for bush street racing and a cool camp out over the weekend, usually in blinding sun burning heat. Naracoorte has a track in S.A. Southcoast raceway in Portland is where I go and it's every bit as good a track as any 1/4 mile anywhere now, I rekon more than 10 cars where leaving the line with the front wheels in the air today. There's more 1/8th mile tracks in the North of Victoria too

some 3.46 gears with LSD should also help those 60ft times, you woulda been right up with that LS1 with gears and LSD. maybe get some MT street ET radials also to assist the traction as well. gotta be worth a couple a tenths at least.

Yep before I do anything else to the car I need to get the traction sorted, thats the next job the gears alone would be worth almost .1

That thing launches like a bat out of hell. How much weight do you think you've chopped from it to get that sort of pickup? 50-80kg?

Um, probably 60 kgs less than factory weight, but the IRS would be 20? kgs heavier than a live axel car. I still have full tar except the boot at the moment. Air con is gone and the spare and jack were out
