    Default VN Shift Kit Installation

How hard is it to install a shift kit? Would someone with little knowledge of transmissions be able to manage it?

About how much would you be looking at to have one installed (labour wise) and how much for the actual kit itself?

if you have basic mechanical skills you should be able to do it yourself with basic tools etc. most kits have averything you need + full instructions etc

Is there any drilling or anything involved that would increase the chance of buggering it up? Also can you recommend anything?

Do you need a hoist or anything? Can a shift kit be fitted without taking the transmission off the car?

you need to take the trans off the car, there is simply not enough room under there to do very much, i had troubles fitting my corvette servo, but then again i didnt unbolt it like the instructions said, ring a few trans places up first for quotes on installation inc. removal and fitting of trans

Oh... well, around my area there isn't really anything other then general mechanics. No where that specialises in transmissions. Umm, would it be terribly difficult to the the transmission out to work on it? Whats involved with removing it?

If necessary I can prolly find somewhere that would do it but it might be a pain getting the car there and back :S About how long would it take to have it done professionally?
