what do i need to do to add a vs gearbox to a vp to replace the original one. i know you got to change the computer to a vs one and i want to know if i can simply add the vs electronic gearbox wiring loom to the vps loom or is there other things to add/change as well. i may keep the vp engine and later i might put in a ecotec engine. i want the advice as ive been searching and couldnt find anything.

also how do you bench test auto gearboxes and engines

Ummmm, wouldn't it be a rather difficult process? The vs transmission is electronic and controlled by the ecu. (And isn't is pretty much exactly the same as the VN/VP one anyway just electronic?)

Anyway, I think the ECU controls the transmission depending on what the engine is doing. So if you don't have an ecotec in might it not be rather difficult?

Unless you can just change the memcal/tune of the VS ecu and patch it through.

IMO stick with the VN/VP transmission Electronics are over-rated lol

there is a stand alone controller you can purchase to run the later 4l60e/4l80e independently etc. it's not cheap but but is fully programable etc
