    Default HELP, broken exhaust

    Hi all,
Have been trying to get my vp in to get a new exhaust on for a while and just cant work it round work. the other day after avoiding a stupid ambo driver, my evasive action causet the tail pipe to tear out of the front of the first muffler (it was rusty as all hell).
My question is how the hell can i dodgy it up to get to work for a week?
It sounded loud due to the rust holes, and im not too woried if it is that loud again, but straight pipe is a bit much!
I was thinking a coke can clamped on to funnel the gas into the can? anyone crazy enough to have tried similar?
I hate shops that dont trade satday, they make life hell!
    Thanks for the help.

Sometimes its not worth doing a dodgy job coz it maybe easier to fix it right the 1st time! Maybe your best option is to have your car fixed up over one day and borrow a car to get to work. a new cat back exhaust (sports) would cost you $250 max, and a few hours to fit. Or get a good condition wrecker job for cheap as chips and fit it yourself, an hours work one night, its not that hard!

If its actually broken off, i wouldn't try strapping a coke can on there thats just a waste of time! Maybe try to fit it in place the best you can and slap on sum muffler putty to get you through a few days.

The place that it has broken is a very awkward and noisy spot. You won't be able to do much about it except replace it. If you have access to another car and can get to a wreckers today, go and get a S/H cheap exhaust to keep you going until you can get it done properly.

Thanks guys. I really want to fix it properly but just cant get anywhere!
I called the wreckers, but they only had a newish one and wanted $90. The new sports system is only $190 so it would kill that idea and id be stuck with a stock system for ages.
Putty wont really work as its at the join and hard to make a curved surface, thats why i thought a can (or piece of pipe) in there then putty round it.
Might give it a try anyway.... no harm in wasting some time under there and it might get me thru the week.
    THX again
