hey last nite i went for a drive through the mountains with some mates and i slid around this corner and nearly lost it and hit all the rocks n gravel on the side of the road, now, there is a noise comming from the engine "sounds like the fan belt", and i am trying to get into the engine bay but all of a sudden my bonnet pop lever does not pop the bonnet??! u can just pull it as hard as u can and it wont pop the bonnet. i was just wondering if there is another way to pop the bonnet "using tools or sumthing".
yeah if you get a mate to push down on the middle of the bonnet, then you pull the bonnet release, then get him to stop pushing you while you still pull the release. might have some luck

found this thread, seems the same prob as yours, the above solution is mentioned as well as others
need help with bonnet
thanks for that man, but i had no such luck with what they said in that thread, i got my bro to pull the lever while i stood on where the lever is, did not move, any other ideas?
Pain in the arse to do, but you can unscrew the bonnet catch. Get a large flat bladed screw driver and laying under the front of the car look up and you will see the end of the pin. It has a slot in it, put your screw driver in that and unscrew it. It may be tight so use a bit of effort. Once it is undone, the bonet will open. When refitting it, adjust it until the bonnet sits flush with the guards.
Remember to fix the issue with the cable before you shut it again though. Usually the clip that is across the hole bends and won't move far enough when you pull the release lever. Bend it towards the side of the hole a bit and pull the catch to see if it moves all the way to the edge of the hole.
thanks for that reply abba fan, nah well i fixed the problem. i just got my fingers just under the bonnet and pulled it as hard as i could while gettin a mate to pull the lever and it popped up.
Why give false information? The pin is on top of the radiator, inaccessable! I even undid the radiator shroud, and couldnt get in via there either. Im going mad, bloody cable snapped.
It's not false information at all. You can see the bottom of the pin from under the front of the car.
Epic dig by the way.
Easy fixed. I had the same problem happen to me a few times. What you need to do is reach up from under the car and unhook other end of the spring that operates the latch. It can be a bit of a pain but it will get your bonnet open. I can upload a photo if you can't find it.
