i have pacemakers to 21/2 inch twin pipes but still not to loud to me i want it as loud as possible with out removing cats and no thing to silly.Thanks![]()
a pod filter will add to induction noise, but will lose you a few horsies.
apart from that, what mufflers resonators are you running
Fit hot dogs where your front mufflers are and remove any rear resonator or muffler you have.
camshaft upgrade maybe
You could take the whole exhaust off if you want to.
It's far better to have a quiet car that makes heaps of power than a loud one that's just anoying to drive
go 3 inch from the Y joint and only run the front muffler. but i agree with foam all noise and no go isnt a good thing
Stato on the inside, berlina on the out side,5ltr under the bonnet, stockies all round...........that thing has to be a sleeper

13.3 1/4 exhaust only untuned!
Nice redback exhaust without the rear muffler made my V8 sound OK and the Greenfoam tune makes it sound crisp as. Almost a mean sound. I think I have extractors but dont know what came as orig on the 91 VN.

......ive got pacies into twin highflow cats then into a 3 inch into 3.5 out the back.... and 1 lukey perfomance muffler just before the diff
gives it a good tuff note... but very deafening if u drive with the windows down
but it also helps to have the engine work to warrent that sort of exzaust or it will just sound gay lol
wrecking VL COMMODORE 5 speed
FOR SALE : supra 5 speed box suite holden v8 $800
The only thing I know of that could make is louder is a Cannon, but they're generally used on really gay four cylinder cars that are trying to sound tough. Admittidly if i saw one on a V8 i'd think it was pretty gay.
Alternatively you could have the end of the pipe flared like a megaphone.
Why do you want to make is super loud anyway, burn out comp or something?
If it's for the drags, be aware that creating an exhaust system with no resistance is only good for maxing out your reading on a dyno, it will actually decrease your performance down the quater if you have no back pressure.
I'd rather push my Holden than drive a Ford
For every commodore I see with a cannon, I wet myself in laughter. I hate the sound of cannons, yuk yuk yuk.
You dont need a bigger pipe... Take your cat off, smash the guts out, weld in a pipe + a lukey straight through in the centre and remove the rear resonator.
So right Airstrike is. Did you even read that he doesn't want to do "silly" things like bash out the cat, there is just no need. If you want loud ask Airstrike, he should have some nice tips. Now I drive a V8 I can stand the sound of the shoitty V6 exhaust note, mainly the ones with the "bashed out" cats.
Did you not read "weld a pipe through it" Stops it acting like an expantion chamber, if you do it properly you cant even tell its done from the outside, also changes the note from the ones with the "bashed out" cats.
Im sorry I dont own a 'fully sick' V8 uleh like you... Ha.
Illegal mods... Haha.
You dont get a $10K fine. well not the 1st time you get caught anyway. just a warning. Well here anyway.
Australia. Love it or leave it
I hate to sound like a greeny, but the cat is there for a reason. It's bad enough that we all drive cars that emmit more greehouse gasses than all the trees on the surface of the planet are capable of breaking down, there's no reason to go converting your car into an acid rain factory by removing the cat.
Anyway, i've seen in car mags before that hollowed out cats cause a loss in performance (reduce the back pressure too much), and the difference between a stock V8 cat and a 'high performance' cat is only about 1% power.
I'd rather push my Holden than drive a Ford
The V8 cat and V6 cat are the same and in the old days when my car was slow I ran a 14.6 1/4 mile with a open cat, put a proper one on and ran 14.7 and it may have still had a 14.6 in it on a better run. So there's no excuse to not run a working cat on a near stock 5 litre
