    Default *****vn V8??...need Help/answers,.. Please!

    Hi,

New to the forum and hoping to gain some knowledge from some of you guys that obviously know a lot more than i do about VN's.....

Im currently looking for a V8 engine for my hilux project i am working on atm.
Apparently there is a VN V8 engine than came factory on straight gas??

    1. Is this a fact?
    2. Does anyone on here have one/ OR can anyone point me in the right direction to any info on it??

    Any comments/info/answers VERY much appreciated!!

    Cheers

I've not read of any gas only VN's. In later models a gas option was in the mix but I can't remember what model it was on or if it was gas only.

I don't think it was fitted in the factory (might have been) but there was a factory approved setup on the VP V6's. I haven't heard anything about a factory lpg 5 litre I don't reckon that exsists. Anyway all you need is a gas research kit on yours and it will be mint

    Thanks guys.

I just spoke to the guy that owns this VN. He says its a 89 VN V8 that was fitted with a gas research kit by holden in the factory and has no injectors????

    Does this make sense?

What is the vn v8 like? good engine?

Have you looked at theis car yourself, do you have any pictures? You could see if it has injectors or not. Im agreeing with the other guys on this, never seen or herd about a straight gas one from factory.

Yep it's a good strong engine with mechanical problems, well apart from the oil pickup that can get clogged when the engine is old and not well looked after with oil changes, so clean that before you put it in. It should be just nice in a Hilux where you want to grunt around in the sand
