    Default Lowering a VN

    Hi guys,
I know that this must have been asked before, but i can't make head or tails of all posts on lowering a VN.

My question is can i have Ultralows in the rear, and superlows in the front (Kingsprings) or the peddlers equavilant? What shocks whould i need? I know i will need an adjustable panhard rod. how much roughly would this cost?

Thanks in advance guys and girls.
    I love my VN

There is plenty of threads, I think you gotta take some time and find what your looking for tho.

Anyway. Once again. Yes Ultras in back and Supers in from are the preferred choice for a level and low VN. I think my adj panhard cost like $110 or so. As for the shocks shortened ones will be needed for the Front, i'm not 100% on the rear tho, can someone else answer that one...

Just in my opinion, and I know this isn't the final truth, but I don't think you'll want Ultralows on the back if you want to handle well. I imagine having your car lean back + extra stiffness in the rear end will lead to cornering issues.

    Just my two cents though

Personally, I went for Superlows on the front, and Lows on the rear - shortened Pedders shocks all around. leans forward a little, handles beautifully.

Yep. Lower at the rear than the front like that will give you cornering issues and wheel alignment issues on the rear which is not adjustable. You are better off lower at the front, as morton said. Lower at the rear just makes it look like your springs are sagging, very Elizabethan bogan style.

Thanks guys, i was talking to a mate last night and he said the same thing.
Also his tyres (17's) rub at the back, he has no panhard rod. If a panhard rod is installed will this stop the tyres rubbing, or will the guards have to be rolled??

sorry about all questions but i just want do this right, heard to many horror stories with lowered cars. and you guys on this site are very knowledgeable.

Usually, when you drop the back of a car, the live rear setup moves to the side. If you're running 17s with wider tyres like 235s, then they will rub on the side your drivetrain has shifted to. An adjustable panhard rod allows you to re-center your diff, and fix the problem. OFC if you run 20s with 255s, they'll probably rub on both sides anyway

i had superlows on front and lows on back
i hated the look, looked like a dog with its arse up waiting for some action
also caused alot of clunking in the back
but then i got superlows all round and looks better now imo

    but each to his own
