    Default Some HSV SV5000 Facts

Here is some info on the VN SV5000.
Just because I want one and here's why!

    HSV VN SV5000

    359 BUILT

60 Rose Grey (#42 to UK)
291 SV Racing Green (31 to NZ)
    4 Ruby Red
    3 Imperial Blue
1 Alpine White (went to Sultan of Brunei)

    Released Sep 1989
    Finished 13 Sep 1991

    HSV Dealer Model $52,995
    Wheels 16x 8.0J
    Engine 200kW/410Nm (4987cc)
    Transmission Auto only

The SV5000 was the hottest version yet of the Commodore with an extra 20kW of power.
One prototype manual was built only - a white sedan trimmed as an executive.

The SV5000 starts as a Berlina with the power option.
Has flat top pistons, bigger cam, valves & valve springs,
knock sensor, better air intake system, extractors & exhaust, special throttle body, recalibrated engine management system, exhuast shields, Narrow VL LSD used, Corvette VR-1 twin piston front brakes, 27mm roll bar, 85L fuel tank, overdrive 4th engagement raised to 80kph & higher shift points, revised front FE2 pack, special SV panhard rod to clear exhaust, twin pin stripes, single slot grill with HSV badge, Dunlop Sport D40m2 tyres, sports seats, black momo leather steering wheel, intergrated rear head restraints, Calais alarm system, trip computer, electric windows & aerial, central locking & cruise control.

Red rocker covers, plenum chambers & front shroud, later cars had HSV badge work.

Option - full Howe leather interior, sunroof, car phone, lock nuts

Top 30 dealers were offered a special version of SV5000 as a 1991 version of the SV T30, they were finished in Imperial Blue. At least 1 was released with full SV5000 items but called a T-30.

For the people that have one of the SV5000 half your luck.

iirc vn hsv le wagons and i think some vp clubsports, and was also an option wheel through holden spare parts. possably some more. you can tell the difference from the out side of the wheel with the 8" wheel the centre badge sat flush with the wheel and the 7" centre badge sat proud of the wheel.
